The Grim Reaper is neither a ghost nor a god. He does not walk but rather glides with his scythe and cloak. He takes great pleasure in harvesting human souls and with a swing of his scythe, he pops the human soul so that no pain is felt as death sets in.
The origins of the Grim Reaper go back far into the past and he was known by many names. In old Celtic folklore he was known as L’Ankou, sometimes called Father Time. To the Greeks he was known as Cronus and the Romans called him Saturn.
He is by far the most feared ‘being’ in this realm.
